Long Story Short, a girl who plays on a Duel Guitar, and has Fox Ears and Tail. Green hair in a ponytail. Also, not pictured, she has black Tengu wings as well as Tengu clogs.

Duel Information:
Ragnaraika, a Japanese themed horror Deck containing Reptiles, Insects and Plants that Link Summon, aiming to use oddball monsters such as Serpentine Princess, the Danger! series, Guard Mantis, etc. to rapidly build its board, seeking to make the Link-5 "Ragnaraika Stag Sovereign" and Link-4 "Ragnaraika Chain Coils".

Due to its highly flexible nature, Kyoko is able to make variants using things like Sunavalon, Rikka, Beetrooper, Reptilianne and the like. She mostly likes Serpentine Princess.

Personality:

An earnest and straightforward girl, Kyoko believes Dueling can solve the world's problem, a fact that will be an enforced rule in Noriko's New World Order (or at least new Japanese order). A belief she's had reinforced by seeing how Kamala and her friends solve most things with Dueling (and then KICKING them hard). She's easy to trick, highly gullible, and honest to a fault, she believes in a just and beautiful world. A fact at odds with the fact she has a fairly intense horror diet (which lends to her liking of Ragnaraika, her Deck of choice). But this intensity and earnestness of a straight forward world view is also the result of her father, Mudoji Dakotsu, a strict ultraconservative who has an extremely black-and-white view of Japan and the world, which has rubbed off on Kyoko in that she only understands the world in a very black-and-white, Lawful-Good lens for the most part.

Also, due to Kamala's efforts for the last few months, Kyoko feels an intense loyalty to Kamala as a friend to the point she was willing to merge with Hatomaru to help protect and serve the Uncrowned Queen.

Hatomaru, the other portion of the being Kyoko has become, is a reserved and conservative (former) Tengu, with a calm but friendly demeanor befitting an older man who stepped into this world from another much older era. But he's focused on keeping the record of the Uncrowned Queen.

Together, they're very loyal to Kamala, and seeks to pay her back for her kindness.

Kyoko in general is a fan of Yokai and weirdness, but has little interest in book learning. Hatomaru meanwhile is a scribe, so Kyoko zones out while Hatomaru uses her body.

Hatomaru likes smoking but given Kyoko is a human with Yokai features, he's taken to puffing and sucking on an empty pipe. Which Kyoko is slowly getting into.

It is possible one or the other will consume the other's personality in the long run but for the moment the two are in a positive relationship. Kyoko probably has other interests but right now "Dueling" and "Yokai" and "Justice" and "Kamala" seem her big things.

History:

Kyoko

Born as the child of Mudoji Dakotsu (無道寺 蛇笏), a wealthy businessman in the Kanto region, Kyoko had the upbringing one would expect of a young boy in a rich family. Her father is a strict ultranationalist conservative with a very hardcore view of what Japan is, and the ideal concept of what it means to be a man in Japan, and the head of Mudoji Enterprises. Who has had strong expectations of Kyoko to be his heir, and raised him accordingly.

Dakotsu did give into Kyoko's desire to Duel, seeing it as a useful tool, as companies in the last 20 years have taken to using Duels as a means to decide business dealing, and sent her to Duel Academia's Domino Primary School Branch. There, she met Kamala and Ixiona, and bullied them, and found herself at the opposite end of a Raidraptor Deck.

Over the previous few months, she came to Kamala and asked for her help as Kyoko realized she identified as a girl. Kamala awkwardly did her best to give her former bully a safe space alongside her D-Wheel gang (ostensibly a D-Wheel club), and Kyoko slowly came out of her shell.

However, on a night at the end of July 2024, Kyoko confronted her father, who she caught on his way to a clandestine meeting, tried to Duel him, got clocked in the gut, and locked in her room. There, she met the shade of Hatomaru, who asked for her help to save Kamala from an unexplained danger. Kyoko recklessly accepted, and got polymorphed into a female presenting Kitsune-Tengu hybrid, and left to save Kamala from said danger.

Kyoko plans to confront her father (if she ever gets the chance) but immediately she and Hatomaru have to help Kamala.

Hatomaru

An ancient Yokai that served the Eastern Court, Hatomaru was the grand scribe of the Baron and Baroness of the Eastern Court. His origins are vague to me at best but he was likely a creation of the Baron and Baroness or simply a Spirit that gravitated to them. Ultimately, however, he was assigned to observe Kamala, the Signer of Ancient Fairy Dragon, as Kamala is incredibly important to the goals of the Eastern Court, which are generally terribly mysterious. However, observation breeds familiarity and affection. And Hatomaru found himself in a grandfatherly role to the nascent God Queen, all the while keeping track of her life.

However, despite rightly observing Kamala is Very Cute and mostly harmless with no issues against the Eastern Court, the Baron and Baroness deemed Hatomaru a traitor for getting too close to the Uncrowned Queen, and struck him down turning him into a shadow of his former self, which drifted to Kyoko's home, seeking someone with aligned interests and a stable body.

Abilities:

Why Are They Here:
I wanted to make sure Kamala's Trans Girl friend subplot went somewhere and Hatomaru to be free of the Eastern Court.
